Injury problems mount for Accrington boss John Coleman

Accrington manager John Coleman is having to cope with a defensive injury crisis ahead of their meeting with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Adam Buxton, Dean Winnard, Tom Davies and Liam Wakefield have all been receiving treatment this week, meaning only loanee Brad Halliday and Matty Pearson were able to train on Thursday.

Coleman told the club website: "It is an injury crisis, there is no getting away with it. And every player who gets injured at the moment is a defender. But we do have players who can step up in the squad, and we may have to ask them to do it, but I have faith in these players."

Midfielder Matt Crooks does return to the squad after sitting out Tuesday's defeat by AFC Wimbledon through suspension.

Daggers manager Wayne Burnett has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Lancashire.

Joe Widdowson (thigh) and Matt Richards (Achilles) remain absent, while Clevid Dikamona (broken hand) is unlikely to be risked.

Ayo Obileye, on loan from Charlton, is out with a knee injury as is Zavon Hines, with the former West Ham attacker facing at least two more months on the sidelines on the long road back from an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.

Joss Labadie is vying for his first start since returning from a six-month suspension for biting an opponent.
