Stanley welcome back Winnard

Dean Winnard is set to return when Accrington host former boss Paul Cook and his Chesterfield side in npower League Two.

Winnard sat out Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Rotherham having been sent off against Bradford on Boxing Day, but rookie defender Tom Eckersley is expected to make way having made his first league start at the weekend.

Cameron Belford will continue in goal having completed an emergency loan move from Bury in time to face the Millers.

Paul Rachubka serves the second game of a three-match suspension, while regular number one Ian Dunbavin is out with a shoulder injury.

Cook left Accrington after eight-and-a-half months in charge to succeed John Sheridan as Chesterfield boss in October.

Former assistant Leam Richardson took temporary charge before being confirmed as Cook's successor, but Stanley have won only three of 16 games under their current boss and have not won for nine matches in all competitions.

Cook will have leading scorer Jack Lester available again.

The Spireites boss has been without the experienced Lester for the last three matches due to suspension.

The eight-goal striker, 37, will be fresh and raring to go after sitting out the busy Christmas schedule and could start at the Crown Ground.

While Lester returns from suspension, on-loan Hull defender Conor Townsend begins a ban after the youngster was shown a straight red card during the 1-1 draw against Morecambe on Saturday.

Marc Richards was only fit enough for a place on the bench against the Shrimps after missing the Boxing Day win over York with the hamstring problem that forced him off just before half-time in the defeat at Southend on December 21.

He may join Lester in pushing for a recall on New Year's Day, while fellow strikers Scott Boden and Luis Boa Morte, defender Neal Trotman and midfielders Craig Clay and Mark Randall are also options for Cook.
