Naismith blow for Stanley

Kal Naismith looks set to miss Accrington's home clash with Bury at the Store First Stadium.

The ex-Rangers forward, who has scored seven goals since crossing the border in the summer, was absent for Friday night's 3-2 home defeat to Scunthorpe because of a hip injury.

Marcus Carver will be Stanley boss James Beattie's only other absentee, the young striker being recalled from a recent loan spell because of a shin problem.

Crewe loanee Lee Molyneux replaced Naismith in the starting line-up in the loss to the Iron and is likely to retain his place.

Bury are likely to be without forward Ashley Grimes when making the short trip to Accrington.

Grimes picked up a hamstring injury in the Shakers' last game on February 4 and was ruled out of Saturday's home clash with Bristol Rovers, which was eventually postponed.

David Flitcroft's side have seen three successive fixtures called off due to adverse weather conditions, and have played just twice since January 18, with midfielder Danny Mayor still hoping to return from a three-game ban.

The extended period without a game has allowed Daniel Nardiello's minor hamstring strain to clear while full-back Frederic Veseli is expected to play despite fracturing a finger against Oxford last time out.
