Fletcher hands Stanley victory

Wes Fletcher scored the winning goal to hand Accrington a 2-1 home victory and end Burton's unbeaten start to the league season.

The on-loan Burnley striker got on the end of Dean Winnard's ball forward, beat defender Ryan Austin on the right and slotted the ball low into the net from 10 yards out with just nine minutes remaining.

Burton led after 39 minutes when Justin Richards fired home his third goal of the season after a Stanley attack was broken up and Adam Bolder played a superb ball out of defence to send the striker racing through.

He beat the offside trap, got to the edge of the area and fired past Sean Murdoch after 39 minutes.

However, Stanley came out stronger after the break with debutant Danny Coid hitting the inside of the post before their pressure paid off on 72 minutes when a Sean Hessey free-kick led to Winnard getting the final touch for his first goal of the campaign.

And then Fletcher came up with the winner - his second goal in three games for Stanley since his switch from Turf Moor as Accrington recorded their second win of the campaign.
