Cameron header sinks Stanley

A late Nathan Cameron goal snatched all three points for promotion-chasing Bury in a 1-0 win at Accrington.

The defender headed home Chris Hussey's cross at the far post in the 80th minute to give the Shakers a derby victory.

Bury should have been ahead in the first half but were guilty of missing two superb chances.

Cameron had a free header on the half-hour from Andrew Tutte's left-wing corner but guided the ball over the crossbar, much to the relief of Arsenal loan goalkeeper Matt Macey.

Then Daniel Nardiello did all the hard work on the right wing in a quick breakaway and set up Tutte seven minutes before the break but he blasted the ball over the crossbar.

Stanley only forced Bury goalkeeper Nick Pope into action after the break but he did well to keep out a Piero Mingoia strike and also a Sean Maguire effort, which he must have seen late.

It was end-to-end, with Stanley clearing a Nicky Adams shot off the line while, at the other end, Luke Joyce was inches off stealing a win for the Reds.

Then up popped Cameron with his late header to make it just one loss in seven for Bury.
