Seedorf seeks Ancelotti guidance for Atletico tie

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf admitted he has been in contact with old boss and current Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti for advice on how to beat Atletico Madrid.

Seedorf's side face a difficult task as they try to overcome a 1-0 deficit when they travel to face Atletico for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday.

The Spanish side have lost just once in 22 games at home this season, but that defeat came in a 2-0 reverse to Ancelotti's Real last month in the Copa del Rey.

Seedorf and Ancelotti won the Champions League twice together at Milan in 2003 and 2007 and the former Dutch international said he had been in contact with his old mentor.

"I said I was going to call him. I have spoken with him about the game and he has wished me luck," Seedorf told Television Espanola.

Another member of the Milan team that won the title in 2007, Kaka, will be one of the principal threats for Seedorf's side if they are to have any chance of becoming only the third side ever in the Champions League to come back from losing the first leg at home.

The Brazilian will receive a hostile reception at the Vicente Calderon as he too is a former Real Madrid player.

And Seedorf believes it is unfair to burden all the expectation onto Kaka's shoulders.

"He is part of the history of the Champions League, but we can't only think about what he can do.

"It could be a central defender that makes the difference in the game. We can't load all the weight onto Kaka."
