Pirlo happy with Milan decision

AC Milan playmaker Andrea Pirlo insists that he has no regrets about not joining Chelsea earlier this season and now hopes to finish his career at the San Siro.

The 30-year-old Italy international was close to following former Rossoneri head coach Carlo Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge, but is content to have stayed put in his homeland.

He told the Gazzetta dello Sport: "Do I regret not following Ancelotti to Chelsea? When you make a decision, it is necessary to see it through.

"At first I wanted to join Ancelotti, it was strange not to see him in the dressing room. But then you get used to the situation.

"Leonardo is doing well and we are with him, there's no looking back.

"Could I close my career at AC Milan? I hope so. I have a contract until 2011 and I hope to stay beyond this deadline."
