Nesta recovers after nose op

AC Milan's veteran defender Alessandro Nesta underwent surgery on a minor nose injury following his match-winning performance against Chievo at the weekend.

The 33-year-old centre-half scored twice in the final nine minutes in Verona to secure a 2-1 victory for the Rossoneri and his injury is not expected to see him miss any games.

A short statement on the club's official website confirmed: "AC Milan communicates that Alessandro Nesta underwent surgery that was carried out by doctor Paolo Marconi regarding a microfracture to his nasal bones.

"The player will be available for Tuesday's training session ahead of the game with Napoli."
