Milan missed out on Keirrison

AC Milan head coach Leonardo has confirmed that his club missed out on the signing of Barcelona forward Keirrison, who joined Fiorentina on a long-term loan deal on deadline day.

The 21-year-old Brazilian will spend the next two seasons with La Viola, with a permanent move to Italy on the cards.

Leonardo confirmed: "I am happy that Keirrison has arrived to Serie A.

"Not so much because he joins Fiorentina and my team could face him, but because I am strongly convinced of his potential.

"I know that Milan tried to sign him but I have no regrets - I have a strong team. I'm just curious to see Keirrison play in Serie A."
