Galliani: No Leonardo attack

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has played down rumours of a fall-out between team manager Leonardo and president Silvio Berlusconi.

The issue came to light after Berlusconi criticised the team following their Champions League last 16 first-leg defeat to Manchester United last week.

However, Galliani has stepped in suggesting Berlusconi is still backing his man.

"Berlusconi never had the intention to attack Leonardo," he said. "He said at a political dinner that Milan have a really good side but the whole thing has been transformed and exaggerated into an attack on Leonardo.

"Now it is absolutely closed. Leonardo has been chosen by me and the president and we love him.

"We are in third place with two games to recover and we are in the Champions League quarter-finals. We lost to United, but played better than them."
