Borriello eyes Milan impact

Injured striker Marco Borriello has vowed to put his injury nightmare behind him and prove a hit at AC Milan. The 26-year-old has made just a handful of appearances this season since returning from a profitable year-long loan at Genoa. Borriello is hoping to return from surgery on a thigh muscle problem before the end of the season and is determined to end a disappointing campaign on a high. "I would like to end (the season) as a football player," he said. "The operation was supposed to take around seven minutes, but as soon as they started cutting they found the unexpected. "Let's just say that the problem was underestimated at the beginning but it's all over now. "I just regret that I could not play football and was not able to confirm what I did at Genoa. But I will soon make up for lost time."
