Montolivo to miss Milan derby

AC Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo is set to miss the Milan derby with Inter on Sunday after picking up a yellow card in a 2-2 draw with Roma.

Montolivo, who was one booking away from a suspension, was cautioned for dissent in the 73rd minute of Monday's fixture at the San Siro.

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, meanwhile, could face disciplinary action ahead of Sunday's game after being sent from the touchline following Montolivo's caution after complaining to the fourth official.

Allegri had to watch the rest of the match from the stands, including Sulley Muntari's leveller 13 minutes from time, and later complained the referee's decision had been harsh.

"I talked to the fourth referee but I didn't offend anyone," said Allegri.

"I'm disappointed to have left the team on its own but luckily the lads managed to equalise."

Roma's fifth draw in six matches means they are now five points behind leaders and champions Juventus.

Milan sit 10th, 14 points off the pace and 16 points behind the first Champions League qualifying place occupied by third-placed Napoli.
