Milan more motivated by Cesena than Arsenal

Massimiliano Allegri insists AC Milan will not be lacking in motivation when they tackle lowly Cesena on Sunday following their thrilling dismantling of Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Serie A champions ripped apart the Gunners in a stunning 4-0 success at the San Siro on Wednesday.

But Allegri says the more modest surroundings of a routine league game in Cesena's Stadio Manuzzi must not provoke a dip in intensity.

"We must be just as motivated or even more so for tomorrow's game compared to that against Arsenal," said Allegri.

"It's the match before the top of the table clash against Juventus and we can't mess it up.

"Other than that, with (Adrian) Mutu and (Vincenzo) Iaquinta they have a top level attack and if we do not play with concentration we will find ourselves in trouble."

Although he demanded a professional and committed display from his team, Allegri isn't prepared to risk certain players a week ahead of the top of the table encounter at home to Juve.

Centre-back Alessandro Nesta, striker Alexandre Pato and attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng have all been left out of the squad as a precaution while Philippe Mexes is injured.

"Nesta's knee sometimes acts up but he'll definitely be fit for Juve," said Allegri.

"Pato has muscle fatigue and it would be useless risking him at Cesena.

"The same goes for Boateng who has felt a muscle. He trained yesterday (on Friday) and came off after 10 minutes.

"We're doing some checks but we always knew we might come across these kinds of problems because we brought them back before schedule.

"(Mexes) will be available in another three or four days while the medical team are evaluating Pato and Boateng and we hope we won't have any complications."
