Beckham set for AC Milan return in January

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has all but confirmed David Beckham will return to the Italian club on loan in January.

"It's 100 per cent certain. The only thing that is missing is the signatures but the agreement is complete," Galliani told Italian television.

Beckham, who is currently playing for LA Galaxy in the MLS, has previously said a return to Italy represents his best chance of securing a place in the England squad for the 2010 World Cup.

The 34-year-old Beckham has been linked with a return to the Premier League, but the former Manchester United midfielder has said he favours a return to Serie A - where he enjoyed a four-month spell last season.

If the deal goes through, Beckham reportedly intends to return to LA Galaxy in the summer of 2010 - after the conclusion of the World Cup.
