AC Milan v Roma: Match preview

Roma may have left it a little too late to snatch second place from Napoli, but Alessandro Florenzi wants to ensure the Giallorossi finish the Serie A season with "no regrets" nevertheless.

Had the capital club made a stronger start to the 2015-16 campaign, they could already be assured of reaching the summer as runners-up to five-time champions Juventus, with direct entry into the Champions League group stage sweetening the deal.

As it happens they are two points behind Napoli, who will wrap up their season at home to relegated Frosinone, and a Roma victory over AC Milan is therefore unlikely to dislodge the Azzurri.

But flying Italy wing-back Florenzi knows Roma could live to regret settling for third and arriving at San Siro in a complacent mood.

He told asroma.com: "We'll be clinical against Milan to make sure we can have no regrets.

"We need to go out there, make the game ours and bring home the win.

"We know it's almost impossible to get second place seeing as it's unlikely Napoli are going to slip up, but we'll keep going until the end."

Roma reach the final weekend in scintillating form having won 13 of their last 16 games, drawing the other three, while Milan are creaking over the finish line after tasting only two victories since February.

Rossoneri boss Cristian Brocchi told a pre-match press conference: "Tomorrow will be a big day.

"The players must show the right attitude out on the pitch.

"Roma are a great team, the players have a massive amount of positive energy. It will be a good match."

Brocchi's future is uncertain given his poor record since replacing Sinisa Mihajlovic in April but the former Lazio midfielder remains optimistic.

"I've always wanted to win. Always," he added.

"My character and personality mean that I am always fully focused on securing the best possible results.

"Milan's history requires a certain kind of discipline. I was chosen to lead the team because of my ideas, and I won't betray them now."

The Rossoneri are missing Luca Antonelli and Jeremy Menez through injury while Roma winger Diego Perotti is out of contention after suffering a muscle problem.

The match could be Francesco Totti's last in a Roma shirt as the veteran striker is out of contract in the summer.

With four goals from his last five games, the 39-year-old is hoping for an extension.
