Stark wins Miller backing
Former Aberdeen striker Joe Miller has called for the Pittodrie board to appoint Billy Stark as their new manager - and offered himself as an assistant.Stark has emerged as one of the frontrunners to replace the sacked Mark McGhee after taking Scotland Under-21s to the European Championship play-offs.Aberdeen have been introducing youngsters such as Fraser Fyvie and Michael Paton to their team and Miller feels Stark can bring out the best in them. Unemployed former SPL managers John Hughes and Gus MacPherson plus ex-Aberdeen striker Eoin Jess are among those to have expressed an interest in the post. But Miller told BBC Scotland: "Billy's stock is very high because he's done ever so well with the Under-21s and could be an ideal candidate."He knows the youth players and the lower division players that are around, and working with the under-21s he would be an ideal candidate."
