Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood believes the return to fitness of Jamie Smith will make a real difference to his side's campaign.
The Scotland midfielder spent nine weeks on the sidelines after picking up a groin injury in August, but impressed on his comeback in the 3-1 victory against Dundee United last weekend.
Calderwood told the Evening Express: "United didn't know what to do with Jamie at times. He did so well when you consider how long he had been out.
"Jamie showed real appetite for the game and will get better the more games he plays."
The Dons boss was also delighted with the display of Chris Clark, who played despite a back injury.
He added: "Chris hasn't been 100 per cent fit for a while now, but he never lets us down.
"He has played wide right, wide left, at the back and in the centre of midfield and always does a decent job. I really appreciate the effort he is putting in."
