Smith sends for Severin

Aberdeen midfielder Scott Severin has been called into the Scotland squad for Wednesday's crucial World Cup qualifier against Norway.

Midfielders Barry Ferguson, Nigel Quashie and Darren Fletcher all picked up minor knocks during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Italy.

Walter Smith is confident all three of them will be fit to line-up in Oslo, but sent for Severin as cover.

Scotland still have an outside chance of clinching a play-off spot but only if they take maximum points against Norway.
