Smith made his first appearance in five months as a substitute in Saturday's goalless draw with Kilmarnock after a serious back problem.[LNB]The former Celtic man is out of contract in the summer and he is determined to prove he deserves a new deal.[LNB]"The contract issue was at the back of my mind," Smith told the Press & Journal. "My main focus was on getting back fit again. [LNB]"The most important thing for me in the last five months has been getting back to playing again.[LNB]"I do not know when talks will start, it is a question for the manager or the board, but I will just wait and see what happens. My family are settled here and I love it at the club. It is a privilege to play for this club.[LNB]"For me just being back and part of things again was great. There are a lot of games left and, hopefully, I can play my part.[LNB][LNB]
