Aberdeen defender Richie Byrne will miss the Dons' next game against Inverness Caley Thistle after the club decided not to appeal against his red card.
Byrne was sent off by referee Craig Thomson following a collision with Motherwell forward David Clarkson during the two sides' 2-2 draw last week.
After initially protesting Byrne's innocence, boss Jimmy Calderwood reviewed video evidence of the incident and decided not to launch an appeal.
He told the Press & Journal: "We're not going to appeal Richie's red card. The player swears he is innocent, and the players near him when the incident happened also said he didn't touch the Motherwell player.
"But, having watched it again on the video, we have decided against it.
"The player was pulling Richie's shirt and he put his hand out to try to push him off. Watching it again, I can understand why the referee made the decision.
"Richie is an honest lad and if he says he didn't make contact intentionally, I believe him, but we won't appeal."
