Aberdeen midfielder Barry Nicholson thinks he can force his way back into the Scotland squad if he can continue his current good form until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old former Dunfermline star scored a penalty in the Dons' comfortable 3-0 win against the Pars in a game that was watched by national team boss Alex McLeish.

Nicholson said: "I was a little bit disappointed not to be involved in the last squad.

"I desperately want to be involved again in the international set-up.

"I don't think I've played as well up here as I've done in the past, but I'll keep working hard in training and in games and, hopefully, the chance will come back."
