New Year's Game Unmoved

Aberdeen's New Year game (note: not 'New Firm' game) against Dundee United remains on January 1st. ABERDEEN'S New Year's Day fixture against Dundee United will take place as originally scheduled on January the 1st. The SPL confirmed the game's date and 3 o'clock kick-off this morning. Last week, Aberdeen had asked to reschedule the match but Dundee Utd were not so keen on the switch. However, the fixture will not move despite SPL secretary Iain Blair saying earlier this week that they usually try to accommodate the home team's wishes. He said: "If both clubs come to us with requests, we will very much try and accommodate them. "If we've got a situation where there's disagreement then there is a tendency, it's not absolute, but it is a tendency to go with the wishes of the home club given the commercial implications of the game and the home club are the ones who either will suffer or gain from that point of view."   Subscribe to Updates Via Email | Recieve News Updates Via RSS Latest Topics From the Stand Free Message Board Click here to share your views with other Dons Fans
