New Stadium Process Underway

16 April 2010 12:00
The lengthy process involved in constructing a state-of-the-art sports and leisure arena has ground into action with a public consultation... ABERDEEN FC has confirmed today that it has submitted a Proposal of Application Notice to Aberdeen City Council, Nigg Community Council and Cove & Altens Community Council as part of the process towards the construction of the long-awaited new stadium. The councils have 21 days to approve or reject those plans, and should they be approved, the public consultation would last 12 weeks, after which the club will file a planning application for the development. A message on the official website RedWeb has confirmed that a planning application will follow in twelve weeks time after a period of pre-application consultation activity. The club will be making no additional comment until the formal consultation process is agreed with Aberdeen City Council.
