Mulgrew earns Jimmy praise
19 Jan 2009 - 10:39:34
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood hailed the pinpoint set-piece delivery of Charlie Mulgrew after Sunday's 4-2 victory over SPL leaders Celtic.
A second-half brace from Zander Diamond - both goals the result of Mulgrew free-kicks - put the champions to the sword at Pittodrie.
"Charlie has an unbelievable left foot. It was two wonderful free-kicks from him," enthused Calderwood.
"Charlie puts the balls into the box with so much pace it makes it very difficult to defend.
"It is a massive weapon for us, especially as we have guys like Diamond, Lee Miller, Scott Severin and Gary McDonald who are all good in the air.
"He works on his free-kicks and we know that when he is on form he will put the ball in the right area for our players to go and attack it."
