Miller defends Dons ref comments

Dons director of football Miller claims the club have been unfairly treated by officials all year, with the red cards shown by Nicholls to Maurice Ross and Chris Maguire in last month's 2-0 SPL defeat at Hibernian merely the latest example of this.[LNB]The SFA have contacted Aberdeen asking them to explain the criticism of Nicholls on their official website in the wake of the October 31 fixture.[LNB]The comments, which were not attributed to any particular club employee, accused the referee of being "hell-bent" on sending players off at Easter Road.[LNB]Miller said: "I am ready to face the SFA over the club's comments about referee Steven Nicholls.[LNB]"I stand by our right to take a stance against what was the latest in a series of occasions when we have felt hard done by.[LNB]"The statement we released underlined our frustration at the red cards Chris Maguire and Maurice Ross received against Hibs. The SFA have to do what they believe is right but so does this club.[LNB]"We have been on the end of a number of bad decisions over the past year or so and there comes a point when you have to say enough is enough.[LNB]"These decisions stretch back into last season when Charlie Mulgrew was red-carded against Rangers in an incident when he did nothing wrong.[LNB]"Charlie was also sent off against Hibs earlier last season for a handball when the ball was hit at him by a player who was clearly in an offside position. He should not have been sent off on either occasion.[LNB]"The SPL is not a dirty league and we do not want the spectacle of the game to be downgraded by sending players off too easily."[LNB]Miller did, however, applaud the performance of referee Euan Norris, who awarded the Dons a controversial penalty in Saturday's 2-1 win over St Johnstone.[LNB][LNB]
