McGhee wants a tighter defence

Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee is determined his defenders iron out the errors which are costing them goals and vital Clydesdale Bank Premier League points. Due to the international break, the Dons manager has two weeks to get his side's defending right before hosting Hearts on October 16. The Granite City side lost in the league for the first time in Inverness thanks to goals from Jonny Hayes and Adam Rooney, which sealed a 2-0 win for the Highlanders at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. It followed last Sunday's 3-2 defeat at home to Rangers and extended their SPL winless streak, which stretches back to August 21. The opener for Inverness was a cross-cum-shot which floated over Mark Howard, while the second followed a mix-up involving Aberdeen captain Zander Diamond, who had a second minute headed goal ruled out for a foul. McGhee said: "We are losing goals like that at the moment where we have contributed to the goals ourselves and it was the same against Rangers so we have got to go away and work hard at that. But I'm not in any sort of panic about that because I am still convinced we have got a squad that's going to do well this season - we have just got to try and get them out there as soon as possible."
