McGhee in upbeat mood

Manager Mark McGhee insists Aberdeen should not be judged until all his players are back from injury.[LNB] The Dons boss has been forced to operate with a depleted squad, which has perhaps contributed to a run of disappointing results in the SPL.[LNB]Rangers fought back from two goals behind to earn their first victory at Pittodrie in almost four years last weekend.[LNB]But McGhee claims there were plenty of positives to take from that game and he remains confident of delivering success this season once the treatment room is emptied.[LNB]"I remain very optimistic about our chances this season," he said.[LNB]"I remain very upbeat despite the four results we have had recently. I still hold my breath for the day that we are all out there.[LNB]"I think only then can we really, truly judge the potential of this group.[LNB]"In the meantime, I think that even last Sunday against Rangers there were positives that we can build on."[LNB]Next up for Aberdeen is a visit tomorrow to Inverness, whose form on the road has been better than their performances at home so far - a situation McGhee says boss Terry Butcher will be keen to remedy.[LNB]"We know Terry and we know his mentality," McGhee said. "He will not be enjoying that.[LNB]"I saw them against Dundee United and they were absolutely brilliant. There was no fluke that day.[LNB]"The type of play they showed that day, their energy and their movement was top drawer. Their finishing was outstanding.[LNB]"That is the team I have seen play. I have not seen them play at home.[LNB]"I can tell you they were a good team that day and so therefore that is the team I am preparing to play."[LNB]From a personal point of view, McGhee is relishing the tussle with former England captain Butcher.[LNB]He added: "He is another one of those guys you know that when you come across you always enjoy playing them.[LNB]"You always enjoy beating them, of course, but you know you are going to have a decent reception.[LNB]"He is a top drawer guy. Terry is one of those guys where, regardless of whether he beats you or you beat them, you know that his reaction is genuine and you're always going to have a drink with him after.[LNB]"I look forward to playing against guys like him."[LNB]
