McGhee fires warning to Dons stars
The Dons' winless run was extended to eight games with the reverse at Pittodrie and McGhee admitted his side will struggle to make the top six if they continue to play in the same manner.[LNB]He said: "I think it will take some transformation in our form if we are to make the top six. Nothing I saw today suggests we are going to make the top six.[LNB]"We have to batten down the hatches and prepare ourselves to make sure we don't end up in a relegation fight. I don't think we are in that yet but if we were to lose the next two games then I think we could be staring at a situation where we are a lot closer to it than we would hope to be.[LNB]"The eight games without a win isn't the concern. The three games we have just lost is the concern. The eight is irrelevant as you can dress that anyway you like.[LNB]"We played brilliantly against Hibs and did well to get a point against Celtic and you can bury that in the eight, which I don't think is fair."[LNB]And the Aberdeen manager felt his side was unlucky to lose against the Jambos.[LNB]He said: "There was a lot of huffing and puffing out there and I don't think any of the players could be accused of not trying.[LNB]"We have conspired to lose a game as I don't think Hearts did any better than us but somehow they went on to win.[LNB]"I felt for most of the game we were the team that were going to win the game. I always felt it was going to be a one-goal game so I was disappointed when we conceded."[LNB]Hearts manager Jim Jefferies was delighted to come away with the three points after being reduced to 10 men and seeing both his central defenders come off injured.[LNB]The Tynecastle side held on for their third successive win, despite losing defenders Marius Zaliukas and Dawid Kucharski to injuries while substitute Laryea Kingston was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Fraser Fyvie.[LNB]Jefferies said: "I don't think I have made as many changes in a football match so considering what we had to put up with to come through it and get three points is just a fantastic result.[LNB]"I felt sorry for both sets of players as the conditions made it impossible to make it a good game, but today was all about getting a result. Apart from the cracking goal, I thought neither keeper was troubled today."[LNB]The Hearts manager wanted to see the challenge made by Kingston again before deciding if referee Willie Collum had made the correct decision.[LNB]He added: "I will make my own judgement when I see it on the video myself. My initial reaction was that he might have been unlucky to get a booking, never mind a red card. I will be able to tell better from the video."[LNB][LNB]
