McGhee At Pittodrie But AFC Set To Issue Statement

It's business as normal for under-pressure McGhee, but Chief Exec says a statement will come this afternoon. UNDER-PRESSURE Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee took his players out for training on Wednesday morning as he continued to insist he could revive the club. McGhee's future was further brought into doubt last night as Aberdeen followed their 9-0 thrashing by Celtic with a 2-1 home defeat against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. But McGhee claimed his players' performance proved he had not lost the dressing room as he argued his case for more time to turn around the club's poor form. The Dons have taken just four Clydesdale Bank Premier League points from a possible 30, although McGhee has called for understanding amid continuing injury problems. McGhee insisted he had been given no indication that defeat against Caley Thistle would spell the end of his 17-month spell in charge but he understands that there is no certainty he will be in the dugout when Aberdeen visit Ibrox on Saturday. A club spokesman confirmed McGhee had taken his players out for training as scheduled but his future remains uncertain. Assistant boss Scott Leitch told reporters outside Pittodrie that he will be back at the club tomorrow for training. And AFC chief executive Duncan Fraser has announced that the club will release a statement at some time this afternoon.
