Mackie, who has been at Pittodrie for more than a decade, sits in tenth place in the club's all-time appearances list.And the season that started with a testimonial game against Villareal will end with the club's all-time top SPL goalscorer saying goodbye to the Dons fans.Mackie told RedWeb: "This is my 13th full season at the club so it has been a long time and it has been a huge part of my life. I have loved pretty much every minute of it. "There have been big highs and lows but overall, it's been a great time. I love the club and I'm still a supporter at heart so it will be sad to leave. "I wish the club all the best for the future and I hope they can get back to the very top".Dons captain Russell Anderson told RedMatchay: "It will give me great pleasure to hand the captains armband over to Darren Mackie today so that he can lead the team out on his final appearance. "Darren has been a fantastic servant to the club over the past decade and has played an important part in the club's history."And Aberdeen's current manager Craig Brown added: "I make no apology for identifying Darren Mackie for special acknowledgement. Darren will captain the side and his young son Kobe will be the mascot. "No praise is high enough for this guy who, as well as being a fine footballer, is an outstanding gentleman. "On behalf of all players and staff, and I am sure you the fans as well, we wish Darren Mackie every happiness and success in his footballing career and future life."
