Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood was delighted with the goalscoring return to action of Steve Lovell in the 1-1 draw at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Lovell struck in the final minute at the Caledonian Stadium, having only come on 11 minutes from time as he started his comeback from groin surgery.
Calderwood said: "We never looked like finding the key to unlocking their defence until we went for it when we brought on Lovell and Chris Maguire.
"It was great for Steve to have come on and scored.
"He has looked sharp in training and I would have liked to play him in a reserve game, but he is so important to us that I persuaded him to start on the bench.
"I didn't want to take him on with that long left, but we were struggling and he has come on and done brilliantly in getting the goal for us."
