Jamie Langfield is hoping to oust Ryan Esson from the number one spot at Aberdeen after completing his move from Dunfermline.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Pittodrie after signing a pre-contract agreement with the Dons before the end of last season.
Langfield spent a frustrating campaign as Derek Stillie's understudy at Dunfermline, failing to make a single first-team appearance, and has no intention of doing the same for Esson at Aberdeen.
He said: "Coming to a club like Aberdeen at my stage of my career is a great honour.
"I'm just here to work hard and hopefully I'll push Ryan all the way. I anticipate a big year for the club."
Langfield made a total of 48 league appearances during spells with Dundee, Raith and Partick before joining the Pars last summer.
