Aberdeen forward Derek Young has been ruled out for at least six weeks with knee ligament damage.

Young, 28, has already missed the last six games with the problem and is now set to be sidelined until the end of April.

"He got it against Celtic here and they've found out it's ligament damage in his knee," revealed manager Jimmy Calderwood.

"It's going to be six weeks at least which is a massive blow because the lad has done really well this season."

The former Dunfermline, St Johnstone and Partick Thistle player has made 30 appearances for the Dons this season after returning to Pittodrie for a second spell in the summer.
