Kerr played under Levein at Tannadice before moving to the Dons in the summer of 2008 and the midfielder is convinced the new Scotland manager can bring an air of respectability back to the national side.[LNB]He said: "I loved working under Craig Levein as he was brilliant for me and gave me a lot of confidence.[LNB]"He changed a few things about my game and it was a great experience working under him. I can only say good things about him.[LNB]"I think the Scotland job will be great for him and I wish him all the best."[LNB]Kerr revealed Levein made an immediate impact on the squad at Tannadice after he replaced Craig Brewster in October 2006 with United struggling at the foot of the Scottish Premier League.[LNB]He said: "We were struggling when he came in for Craig Brewster but things picked up from the moment he arrived.[LNB]"He was excellent and all the boys had a great deal of respect for him. He is quiet and tends to keep his distance by staying in the background but if he needed to shake things up then he would do it.[LNB]"I think he goes about his business in the right way and he had so much knowledge about the teams you were going to come up against.[LNB]"Nine times out of 10, the teams we faced would play in exactly the way Craig had told us and I found that a real benefit."[LNB]Meanwhile, Kerr is determined to help the Dons avoid a fourth successive defeat when they face St Mirren on Saturday.[LNB]Aberdeen have followed up last month's 1-0 victory over league leaders Rangers by losing to Celtic, Hamilton and Hibernian.[LNB]Mark McGhee's side have only won once on their travels so far this season but Kerr believes they are good enough to earn maximum points this Christmas weekend.[LNB]Kerr said: "When you go on a run like this, you are desperate to put it behind you.[LNB]"The results haven't been the best but we are trying to stay positive and work hard because we know it is going to be a busy period over Christmas and New Year.[LNB]"We are just going to stay confident and get the boys ready for Saturday."[LNB]The Dons would only be a point above St Mirren if they were to lose to the Paisley side on Saturday.[LNB]Kerr admitted Aberdeen cannot afford to drop points against Gus MacPherson's team on Boxing Day.[LNB]He added: "Obviously, St Mirren aren't sitting too far away from us in the league.[LNB]"We definitely need a win, which means we need to go there and address the game with the right attitude and in positive spirits. It is important we keep it tight and capitalise on the chances that we are creating."[LNB][LNB]
