Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood hopes their CIS Insurance Cup disappointment will provide an extra determination to reach the Scottish Cup final.
The Dons set up a last four meeting with Queen of the South after dumping holders Celtic out at the quarter-final stage following a 1-0 replay victory at Parkhead on Tuesday night.
But after exiting the League Cup at the semi-final stage following a disappointing performance against Dundee United, Calderwood is looking for a response.
He said: "Being favourites is dangerous for us.
"We didn't turn up for the CIS insurance Cup semi-final but hopefully we turn up this time and don't let the fans down.
"Celtic threw everything at us and when they got a corner with 30 seconds to go I was thinking it was going to be the same scenario as the first game (when they scored a late equaliser).
"We rode our luck at times and I think we could have passed the ball better."
