Hornets boss closes in on Severin

The versatile 30-year-old, who has 15 caps for Scotland, is out of contract at Pittodrie. Mackay told BBC Scotland: "It's something we hope to get done very, very soon. "I went up and had a look at him myself and we had scouts watching him for the last six months or so. "I've spoken to a lot of people up in Scotland about him and I've met him, and he's certainly someone who has impressed me in terms of his character."
