Home loss annoys Calderwood
15 Sep 2008 - 16:47:06
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood was disappointed not to make home advantage count as the Dons slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Hamilton at Pittodrie.
Calderwood's side led early on thanks to Gary McDonald's seventh-minute goal, but were unable to hang on to their advantage as they slumped to their second home defeat in three games.
The Dons boss said: "I thought we started very well in the first 20 minutes and we took a deserved lead.
"After that we just seemed to take the foot off the gas a bit and then Hamilton started playing well and taking advantage of us.
"They got a great first goal which must have given them confidence as well and then they went on to take the lead.
"We really need the team to take the expectation levels and not let it work against them as we should be winning all our home games.
"Overall I think we should have built on our lead early on and when this didn't happen we lost control of the game and Hamilton punished us."
