Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee hailed Paul Hartley for his captain's display after his side's dramatic 2-1 win over Falkirk in the quarter-finals of the CIS Insurance Cup. The Dons battled back from a goal down to equalise through a Hartley header before the skipper kept his cool to convert a penalty in the fourth minute of stoppage time after Chris Maguire had been brought down by Falkirk's goalscorer Mehdi Khalis. McGhee said: "I'm going to credit a lot of the second-half performance to Paul Hartley. "At half-time I told the players that they can't be looking around for somebody else to make the difference, every single one of them had to show the determination to up their game. "Paul Hartley was the one for me that did that and he dragged the rest of them along with him. "He deserves a lot of credit for that second-half performance."
