Further injury blow for Aluko

Aberdeen winger Sone Aluko is set to be sidelined for at least three months after seeing a specialist about his long-standing Achilles problems.

The 21-year-old has already been out for around a month and is now facing a much lengthier absence.

Dons director of football Willie Miller told the Press & Journal: "It is a huge disappointment for the player and for the club. Sone is an important player for the club.

"He is a matchwinner and will be a big miss. It is frustrating, especially given the way Sone started the season. He looked like he was back to being the player everyone knows and loves.

"He has had a torrid time with injuries in the last season or so, but hopefully this will get to the bottom of it.

"The specialist said he has an unusual problem with his Achilles, which he has not seen too often in the past.

"He will be immobilised in plaster for a couple of weeks and then he will have another scan."
