Aberdeen goalkeeper Ryan Esson accepted the blame for Inverness' goal on Saturday as the Dons lost two crucial points in a 1-1 draw.
Jamie Smith looked to have secured all three points for Aberdeen when he scored in the 55th minute until Esson could only parry a David Proctor shot into the path of Graham Bayne who made no mistake 17 minutes from time.
Esson said: "It was very frustrating to concede the equalising goal and looking back I should have tried to hold on to the ball instead of deciding to parry it.
"Aside from that I thought we defended pretty well throughout the course of the game and I didn't have much else to do other than make some routine catches in the box.
"Now we need to get as many points on the board as soon as possible because the first quarter of the season is nearly over and it is time to really start to push on and gather some momentum."
