Dons to keep Anderson

Aberdeen have dismissed reports suggesting that captain Russell Anderson could leave the club in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old centre-back has been linked with both Rangers and Aston Villa, but Dons director of football Willie Miller such suggestions.

He told the Evening Express: "Russell isn't going anywhere. He is our captain and a vital part of our future plans.

"I've heard all the stories going about and can assure fans they are complete nonsense.

"It's inevitable that sort of thing will happen when players are performing as well as Russell is for us at the moment.

"But we haven't received any official approaches for Russell and will be happy if things stay that way."
