Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood has been given hope of being able to bring loan midfielder Josh Walker back to the club next season.
The 19-year-old has impressed since moving to Pittodrie from Middlesbrough in January and Calderwood would like to keep Walker for next term if possible.
He told the Press & Journal: "Gareth Southgate wants Josh back for pre-season training before making a decision.
"He's been well pleased from what he's heard. He's had Josh watched and he's done well.
"Josh is frustrated he hasn't played so much recently and I can see it, but he has a great attitude and I would love to have him back here.
"The door is still open. Gareth was very positive about what he has heard from Josh and his scouts."
