Aberdeen have not given up hope of signing Dundee striker Steve Lovell.
The former Portsmouth forward has been struggling with a knee injury recently, but Aberdeen's chief executive Dennis Wyness has said that if Lovell proves his fitness before the end of the month, the Dons may pounce.
''We did make an inquiry about Lovell around the holiday period but we've not made a bid for him," Wyness told the Daily Record.
"There are many options available to the club and we will make a decision on each case when it comes around.''
The 23-year-old striker has scored 11 goals in 28 SPL starts for the Dark Blues since moving to Dens Park from Pompey 18 months ago.
