Dons step up Wright hunt

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood is keen to snap up Darlington's former Barnsley striker Tommy Wright. The Dons have lodged a £100,000 bid for the 23-year-old who has scored 19 goals in 59 appearances for the Quakers. The League Two side confirmed earlier this week that they have already rejected two offers for the former Leicester City trainee. However, the Dons have missed out on the signing of Dutch defender Tim Bakens who has decided to join Volendam rather than move to Pittodrie.
