Dons secure Ross signing

Aberdeen have completed the signing of former Rangers defender Maurice Ross on an initial short-term deal.

The 28-year-old was a free agent after leaving Turkish club Kocaelispor at the end of last season and has been training with the Dons for several weeks.

Ross also impressed during a midweek bounce game against Dundee and may be pitched straight into first-team action this weekend.

Dons boss Mark McGhee told the Evening Express: "Maurice is an accomplished player and has shown us, in training and in the game against Dundee, that his fitness is fine.

"There would be no point in signing Maurice unless he was ready to be involved immediately."
