Dons happy to keep Miller
03 Feb 2009 - 16:01:58
Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood has revealed his relief that striker Lee Miller is still at Pittodrie following the closure of the transfer window.
The highly-rated frontman had been linked with several moves away, but the window closed on Monday with Miller still with the Dons.
"I'm delighted the window has closed with Lee still here," Calderwood told the Evening Express.
"There was always a fear that someone might try to snatch Lee away because he is in great form and is back involved with Scotland.
"For my money, Lee is now the best striker in Scotland and you can be sure clubs in England have taken note of his form.
"But I reckon it's as good for Lee as it is for Aberdeen that nothing happened.
"We might have been made an offer we couldn't turn down but I don't think it would have been beneficial for Lee to leave.
"He is playing every week at Aberdeen, which is why he is back in with Scotland.
"The fans love him and everyone at Pittodrie does as well, so it would be good for him to stay here for at least another year."
