Dons fear for Nicholson

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood fears that Barry Nicholson has played his last game of the season after the midfielder suffered a shoulder injury in the 1-0 win against Hearts.

Initial reports suggested the 28-year-old would return to first-team action later this month, but it is now suggested that he may require surgery.

"Barry is in an awful amount of pain around his shoulder blade," admitted Calderwood.

"I think it was the contact rather than the way he landed that caused the damage, but I'll be looking at it again on tape.

"He is in a lot of discomfort and we'll need to get it checked at the hospital to find out the full extent of the injury."
