Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood blamed defensive frailties for his side failing to reach the final of the CIS Insurance Cup.
The Dons were soundly beaten 4-1 in Tuesday's semi-final meeting with Dundee United at Tynecasle and afterwards Calderwood pointed the finger squarely at his side's sloppy play.
He said: "The manner we lost was tough to take.
"It's been like that the whole season, the goals we have been giving away. There have been so many misunderstandings and individual mistakes.
"Only five or six had pass marks and you can't win a game with five or six players.
"I think they passed the ball better than us. You have to start the game well and three or four of them gave their first passes away.
"It puts you under pressure."
