Dons Take On Twente For A Tenner

05 June 2013 08:58
AFC has announced a shexy shummer sheason-opener against Dutch side FC Twente at Pittodrie in July.

Even Dons fans with scant knowledge of European football will have heard the name Twente, as that is the team we signed towering Dutch goalkeeper Theo Snelders from.

Theo went on to be a cult hero for the Dons as he helped the club win the cup double in 1989/90 with a string of outstanding saves in the Skol Cup final against Rangers and a dramatic penalty save in the first-ever Scottish Cup final penalty shoot-out.

Eredivisie followers will know that Twente won the first league title in their history in 2009/10 with Steve McClaren at the helm.

Aberdeen vs FC Twente will take place on Friday 26th July, with a 7.30pm kick-off and tickets are £10 for adults, £5 for U18s and £1 for U12s.

So why not grab a few Amstels after work then check out the new-look Dons side in action in the summer sun?
