Dons Fight Back For Fir Park Point

18 September 2010 17:50
Vernon makes it two goals in two as Aberdeen overcome injuries to snatch away draw. ABERDEEN came from behind to grab a 1-1 draw with Motherwell at Fir Park today. Jamie Murphy gave the home side the lead in the 35th minute when he raced on to a Nick Blackman pass before beating Jerel Ifil and nutmegging returning Dons goalkeeper Jamie Langfield from 10 yards. However, new Dons striker Scott Vernon levelled 10 minutes into the second half from close range after good work from Chris 'Bebo' Maguire. The point kept Aberdeen in the fourth place they had been relegated to following Hearts' lunchtime victory, and will be seen as a point gained after coming from behind and considering boss Mark McGhee is missing all his creative first-team options due to injury.
